An overwhelming 89% of Sevenoaks shoppers reject the Government’s deal which leaves the UK with no Veto, no Vote and a rule taker.
This was the striking result of a poll* run by SSTIE (Sevenoaks & Swanley Together in Europe) in Sevenoaks High Street, 10 days before the crucial vote in Parliament on the 11th Dec.
Given a choice of the Prime Ministers 3 options : Theresa May’s deal, No Deal or No Brexit, 75% opt for No Brexit, and 81% want a final say on the deal.
SSTIE has now polled close to 1,400 people in Sevenoaks and Swanley since June, and it is noted that there is an increasing awareness among people in the Sevenoaks constituency that having a final say would be an informed vote, knowing what is now on offer and what has emerged since 2016.
Realising that the least bad exit terms on offer are terrible seems to be leading more people to realise that we are better off where we are, in the EU.
