On Saturday 29th September SSTIE, mounted its biggest ever street campaign for a People’s Vote in Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Westerham. (See photos)
We noted that more younger people are engaging with us and obtained 74 signatures for the People’s Vote while giving out hundreds of leaflets.
On Saturday 8th September 2018 SSTIE joined forces with the local Liberal
Democrats group with a focus on collecting signatures for a People’s Vote.
Well over a 100 signatures were obtained in 2 hours and a ballot box on the Final Say gave the following result :

Saturday’s Brexitometer exercise produced the astonishing result that 77% of the sample of 125 were in favour of a final say and all 5 questions on whether things would be better or worse after Brexit were answered with figures between 64% and 75% on the side of being Worse. This last finding is a complete reversal from our previous poll in Swanley on Wednesday 6th June and leads to the conclusion that there is now a body of opinion in Swanley with real doubts about Brexit . On Saturday 21 July Sevenoaks & Swanley Together in Europe (SSTIE) campaigned for a People’s Vote in Tonbridge High Street along with pro-EU activists from Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells (TW-IN).
Hundreds of leaflets with a link to the petition demanding a People’s Vote were accepted, 73 Tonbridge shoppers signed a paper copy of the petition and 245 expressed their opinion on the SSTIE Brexitometer board. Continue reading ““It’s an awful mess” say Tonbridge shoppers”
